Bring your walking or running shoes to the conference ready to undertake two incredible Hamilton Central walks….have an invigorating start to your day or unwind at the end…..
Lake Rotoroa, commonly known as Hamilton Lake, has an off-road walkway with nothing between you and the lake and takes you around its edge on boardwalks and paths, through stands of bush and past myriads of wading and free flight birds. A cafe and extensive children's playground lie at the eastern end of the lake, while many types of boating from yachting to waka paddlers enjoy being on the lake. Distance around the lake is 3.80 km, and is classed as an easy walk / run!
Waikato River runs through the central city area and boasts picturesque walks on both banks. With easy access from the central city, head north or south, criss-cross the bridges, even get to the famous Hamilton Gardens. Popular with the locals, these riverside paths allow you to get up close to nature whilst still being close to the city!
Team up with a local and head out for your 30 minutes a day!
Other activities in the central city that fit into the ‘recreational’ arena, are the Waikato Museum and Artspost. Both located at the south end of Victoria Street, with permanent collections and seasonal exhibitions, they are well worth a visit.
